During the service life of the ceramic fiber blanket, the maintenance of the blanket is very important. Ceramic fiber blanket is a high quality light weight refractory material and is trusted by everyone in the thermal insulation area. The blankets take ceramic fiber as raw material, which is the ideal thermal insulation material in the industrial field at present. It is characterized by low thermal conductivity, light weight, good chemical stability, no baking required after installation.

How to maintain ceramic fiber blanket?

1. Ceramic fiber blankets can be divided into several types. Different types of ceramic fiber blankets have different working temperatures. The blanket can not be used to exceed the specified temperature. If the working temperature exceeds the specified temperature, it will affect the tensile strength of the blanket or even damage it.

2. The blanket must not get wet. If it is wet, it will affect or even lose its thermal insulation property. Don’t use it in a furnace which has water vapor. When we store it, we should keep it in a dry place to avoid rain water, vapor, etc. The blanket should avoid the man-made mechanical collision otherwise it will seriously affect the impact resistance.

3. Spun ceramic fiber blanket is the raw material to make ceramic fiber module, because the spun blanket has higher tensile strength than the blown fiber blanket. Spun ceramic fiber blankets can be folded and compressed into ceramic fiber module. Before we make modules, we must carefully examine the blankets to ensure their integrity and not to be damaged. The fibers of the blankets should not break, so that they can maintain better thermal insulation property and extend service life.

4. The ceramic fiber modules made from ceramic fibre blankets are excellent light weight refractory fiber linings for furnace and kilns. After installation of the modules, it requires to spray a lay of ceramic fiber coating on the surface of the module to make it stronger and more integrative. After the ceramic fiber surface coating is solidified into a hard ceramic fiber shell, it can improve the lining’s corrosion resistance and the shaping of furnace lining. It usually needs regular maintenance once a year.
