Glass fiber cloth is a kind of reinforcement and insulation fabric made from glass fiber yarn through high temperature melting, drawing, winding, weaving and other processes. The advantages of glass fiber cloth are high tensile strength, excellent thermal insulation, good corrosion resistance, good electric insulation, high mechanical strength. Due to the raw material of waste glass, glass fiber cloth is a non toxic and relatively safe material, but it will generate dust and small particles during the course of production and using. When we operate or use glass fiber cloth, we should pay attention to the following precautions:

1. Make sure to wear masks when we produce, cut or handle glass fiber cloth. Wearing masks can prevent the fiber dust or particles from inhaling into our lungs. Make sure to wear safety eye glasses, long sleeve clothing, long pants and gloves to avoid fiber dust and particles directly contacting our eyes and skin.

2. The place where we produce or use glass fiber cloth should be well ventilated. We can open windows or use ventilation devises to reduce the tiny particles or dust from the working place. A wet mop or vacuum cleaner can be used to clean the work place to reduce the spread of dust. 

3. Don’t contact our eyes and skins with glass fiber. If it contacts our eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water or seek medical advice.

4. Don’t be exposed to the glass fiber cloth for a long time, especially in the absence of proper protection. It may cause skin irritation and allergic reactions if we directly contact glass fiber cloth for a long time.

5. After the end of use or operation, clean the skin and clothing in time to remove the glass fiber particles that may be attached.

With the rapid development of market economy, glass fiber cloth has become an essential raw material for construction, transportation, electronics, electrical, petrochemical, metallurgical, national defense and other industries.
