Ceramic fiber blanket is the main product in a series of ceramic fiber products. It is a high efficiency and energy saving refractory material with lightweight, high temperature resistance, low thermal conductivity, thermal shock resistance, wind erosion resistance and so on. It can be extensively used in petrochemical, metallurgical, power generation and other industrial fields.
The highest temperature of the ceramic fibre blanket can reach up to 1430℃. Due to its excellent high temperature resistant property and good energy saving effect, its main application is a lightweight refractory fiber material used as the thermal insulation lining for high temperature furnaces and kilns. Ceramic fibre blanket is a porous product. It can block the heat air flow out and also can block the cold air to flow in, so is also a heat and cold insulation products. It can be used as hot and cold wrapping or sealing materials for various industrial equipments.
Although ceramic fiber blanket is not afraid of heat and cold, it is afraid of water. Water is the biggest Nemesis of the blanket. This is because the ceramic fibre blanket is made of ceramic fiber loose cotton as raw materials. The blanket is soft and light in weight. There are many tiny pores inside the ceramic fiber. Since it is a product with a high porosity, it absorbs water easily. Once it encounters water, the tiny pores inside the ceramic fiber will be filled with water, the internal structure of the fiber cotton collapses and the pores inside the fibers will become smaller or disappear. This will result in the decline or loss of the thermal insulation as well as cold insulation effect. The blanket has no resilience any more. Therefore, the ceramic fiber blanket must be paid attention to waterproof during transportation, storage and operation. During the application of the ceramic fiber blanket, we must also avoid rain water to damage the blanket and do the waterproof measures.
