Ceramic Fiber Blanket Is a Good Thermal Insulation Material

Ceramic fiber blanket, also known as aluminum silicate fiber blanket, is a kind of thermal insulation material with light weight and good heat preservation. As a new product, it has incomparable advantages over the traditional thermal insulation materials. We know that asbestos was the representative thermal insulation material that was used for many years, but it was later found that asbestos would cause lung disease or even lung cancer. Now asbestos has been prohibited to be used in most countries in the world.

 

Today, many non-toxic heat resistant materials have replaced asbestos products. Among the thermal insulation materials, ceramic fiber blanket is one of the main materials which can be widely used in industrial fields. The typical use of ceramic fiber blanket is the high temperature resistant lining for industrial furnaces and kilns. Compared with traditional lining materials such as fire bricks and castables, its weight is only about 10-20% of them. As a light weight refractory lining, ceramic fiber blanket can reduce the load on the furnace body. This can protect the furnace body and extend the service life of the furnace.

 

Ceramic fiber blanket is an energy-saving material. Its heat capacity is only about l/10 of the castable lining. Low heat capacity means that the furnace absorbs less heat in the repeated operation and the heating speed of the furnace can be accelerated. This can greatly reduce the energy consumption during the furnace operation, especially for the heating furnace which starts and stops frequently and usually needs to use a lot of heat energy. With the use of ceramic fiber blanket as the lining material, it can achieve significant energy-saving effect.

 

Ceramic fiber blanket does not contain any organic binders, so it will not burn or appear smoke when it is used during the high temperature operation. It has good thermal stability and can greatly improve the heat resistant property. Ceramic fiber blanket also has superior thermal shock resistance and is an excellent thermal insulation material.
