At the end of the 20th century, Europe and the United  States began to research SiO2, MgO, CaO as the main components of bio soluble fiber which has the characteristics of degradation in natural environment and human body. Bio soluble fiber has solubility in human body fluids, no damage to human health and can be used continuously at higher temperatures as thermal insulation materials. This is a new generation of environmental protection and green heat insulation product. The purpose of the research is to replace the traditional ceramic fiber. 

However, in the initial stage of research of bio soluble fiber, the advantage of the fiber was only environmental protection. Other aspects were not as good as ordinary ceramic fiber. Besides the cost of bio soluble fiber was high, so it limited its application. Through nearly 20 years of development, the research on bio soluble fiber with solubility in human body and environment protection has succeeded. The properties of the fiber have no difference from the ordinary ceramic fiber in all other aspects. The cost has been significantly reduced, so the application in developed countries such as Europe, America and Japan has been used rapidly.

Now China can make a range of bio soluble products, such as bio soluble fiber blanket, bio soluble fiber board, bio soluble fiber textiles, etc. Like ordinary ceramic fiber blanket, bio soluble fiber blanket is a white color product and its color is the same as ceramic fiber blanket. It has the advantages of low thermal conductivity, excellent thermal insulation property, resistance to thermal shock, energy saving and can be used as light weight fibrous refractory lining material for furnaces, kilns and many other insulation applications.  

Like traditional ceramic fiber textiles, the production of bio soluble fiber textiles also needs to add viscose blending and to be reinforced by stainless steel wire or glass fiber. In order to distinguish them from ordinary ceramic fiber textiles, in the production process, a certain amount of dyed green adhesive are added when blending, so that bio soluble fiber textiles becomes light green. The choice of green is also the meaning of green environmental protection.

Nowadays, the world has higher and higher requirements for environmental protection, so the application prospect of bio soluble fiber is very bright. We pay more and more attention to environmental protection and we believe that bio soluble fiber will have greater development in the future.
