Ceramic fiber products include ceramic fiber blanket, ceramic fiber module, ceramic fiber board, ceramic fiber paper, ceramic fiber cloth, ceramic fiber tapes and ropes. In order to ensure the quality of the ceramic fiber products, there are number of things to pay attention to before purchasing, during storage, when using and after installation.

Selection of ceramic fiber products is important. Let’s take the ceramic fiber blanket and module as an example. The color of the blanket and module must be pure white. If their color is yellow, they are poor quality products. The short content (slag ball content) of the products should be low, because the more short content products mean the raw material contains more impurity. This will decrease the use temperature of the products. It is necessary to choose the high quality products, because the high quality products usually adopt high quality raw materials to produce and the high-quality products are specially processed in production, which enable the products to have higher temperature resistance, better thermal insulation property, higher strength, etc.

Ceramic fiber products must be stored in a dry place. Before installation of the ceramic fiber blanket and module, we need to check whether they are intact and whether they are polluted by rain water or vapor. The water-soaked modules and blankets are difficult to dry again. Even if they are dried, their thermal insulation property becomes poor and this will reduce the use effect. Don’t use the ceramic fiber blanket and module which are spoiled by rain water or moisture. In the operation process, the users must check the products carefully. If they are damaged, they must be replaced by good products in order to reduce the loss.

Ceramic fiber products can not be used exceeding the specified temperature. If the products are used exceeding the specified temperature or used improperly, they will be easily destroyed. As long as we use the products correctly, their service life is about 10 years. During the long-term operation, the bumps, stains and other inferior factors will inevitably occur. These will reduce the use effect of the products, so the maintenance of the refractory fiber products is important.

After installation of the ceramic fiber module and blanket, they are required to spray a layer of high temperature resistant curing agent on their surface in order to increase the wind erosion resistance and ensure the ceramic fiber lining to work for a longer time without damage. After cured of the ceramic fiber coating, the surface becomes a hard shell, which can improve the quality of the ceramic fiber lining and also prolong its service life. Regular maintenance of the ceramic fiber lining must be carried out to ensure the quality of the lining. Generally, the furnace and the kiln are serviced once a year. During the service process of the furnace and kiln, the modules and the blankets are required to be maintained and repaired. Once a year, a layer of high temperature curing agent is required to be sprayed on the surface of the ceramic fiber lining to ensure its quality and extend its service time.
