Ceramic fiber blanket has the advantages of lightweight, high temperature resistance, low thermal conductivity, energy-saving, fine thermal shock resistance, good wind erosion resistance, etc. It is extensively used in petrochemical, metallurgical, power plant and many industrial areas.  

 

Ceramic fiber blanket is a type of cotton like porous material. It is very light and has many pores inside the blanket. Being a porous material, the pores inside the blanket are full of air which prevents the heat to flow out and can store the heat energy inside the furnaces and kilns. Thus it has improved the heat storage of the furnace, kilns and other thermal insulation equipments. It can save 10-30% energy compared to other traditional heat insulation materials. Ceramic fibre blanket also can stop the cold air to flow in due to the pores inside it. The blanket has excellent thermal insulation efficiency. But for some special furnaces, it can not be used as thermal insulation lining materials due to the special chemical substances of the furnaces. Therefore, the research and development of ceramic fiber blanket also need to be further carried out.

 

Ceramic fibre blanket is an excellent lightweight refractory lining material. It is often used in industrial thermal insulation fields especially as lining materials for intermittent furnaces and heating furnaces which need to rise and fall of the temperature frequently. This will cost a lot of energy. When ceramic fiber blanket is used as the furnace lining materials, it can greatly save energy than the traditional lining material. Ceramic fiber blanket is made from spun ceramic fiber which is thicker and longer than the blown fiber, so the spun ceramic fiber blanket has higher tensile and folding strength than the blown ceramic blanket. It is suitable to be used in heat insulation environment where require high tensile strength.

 

Ceramic fiber blanket can resist high temperature. The thermal insulation efficiency of the blanket has been greatly improved. However, its technology and quality still need to be improved. We hope that through the continuous research and development of technology, we can obtain better achievements and produce higher quality products.
